Accounts Receivable Clerk/Inside Sales

Under the supervision of the Office Manager, this position performs bookkeeping work requiring the application of various work methods and procedures and performs related duties as assigned.  This position will also be trained to perform various Inside Sales Representative duties when necessary.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES include:

· Maintains the highest possible levels of professional customer service, including professional phone etiquette.

· Acknowledges and assists all customers in a courteous and friendly manner.

· Establishes and sets up new accounts in the A/R system.

· Files pre-lien information on all jobs over $1000.

· Posts payments to customer’s accounts.

· Reconciles aging of accounts and attempts to collect on past due accounts.

· May assist the Assistant Manager or the Office Manager to reconcile all cash sales and prepares a daily sales report.

· May assist the Assistant Manager or the Office Manager to prepare bank deposits and daily banking report.

· May assist the Assistant Manager or the Office Manager to balance registers and invoices.

· Provides assistance at the local and corporate levels with respect to A/R

· Assists with inventory.

· Answers telephone and directs calls to the appropriate party.

· Abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies and ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

· High school education or its equivalent plus classes in bookkeeping and/or accounting.

· Good verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to use and operate an adding machine, copier, typewriter, personal computer, and any other office equipment required to perform duties.

· Knowledge of a variety of software including but not limited to spreadsheet and word processing applications.

· Regular attendance is required.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS include:

· Standing, walking, sitting, talking/listening.

· Lifting up to 25 pounds.
