JOB TITLE: All Estimators – Heavy Civil Construction

 

DESCRIPTION:

Located in beautiful wine country, only an hour away from San Francisco and less than two hours from Lake Tahoe, this general engineering contractor is seeking all levels of estimators to join their team.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·  Identify bid opportunities

·  Prepare competitive, winning bids

·  Prepare cost estimates for paving, grading, excavating, underground and/or heavy civil construction projects in accordance with the scope of work.

·  Understand Hard Bids and Soft Bids

·  Perform quantity take-offs

·  Determine resource requirements

·  Develop production rates

·  Coordinate the total estimating effort

·  Interface with owners, engineers, and other contractors.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

·  Bachelors in Construction Management or Engineering

·  8+ years experience with a general contractor

·  8+ years experience public works construction projects

·  Paving, grading, estimating, heavy civil construction experience a must (ex. Bridges, highways, roadways, etc.)

·  Knowledge of estimating/project scheduling and take-off software (HCSS, AGTEK, SureTrak, JD Edwards, etc.)

·  Proven track record of bidding success and project profitability

·  Ideal candidates will come from companies like Granite Construction and/or Kiewit Pacific.
