Bookkeeper/Office Assistant

Fast growing light manufacturing eastern Jackson County company is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper/Office Administrator.  Candidates will need 2-5 years bookkeeping experience.  Working experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is preferred.  Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Overview:

 

This position provides office and administrative support to the general operations of the company.  The employee is responsible for all bookkeeping and payroll functions, provides general office administrative support and performs the duties of the receptionist.

 

Essential Functions:

 

 

Bookkeeping (60% of job)

  Maintain A/R – A/P – Cash Management – General Ledger

  Produce weekly payroll

  Create and Mail Invoices for Payment

  Reconcile Bank Statement

  Provide end of month and end of year reports

  Prepare and submit monthly sales tax filings

  Prepare and submit quarterly payroll tax filings

 

General Office Duties (30% of job)

  Maintain daily time cards and records

  Maintain Employee Files

  Perform Needed H.R. Functions

  Work With Vendors for All Insurance Needs

Open and distribute mail

  Order office supplies, select appropriate vendors

Maintain supply cabinet

Maintain filing system

 

Clerical Support (5% of job)

  Write letters and make phone call for the president as needed

  Maintain bid files

  Maintain service contracts

 

Act as a Receptionist (5% of job)

  Answer the phone in a timely manner

  Take accurate messages

  Refer callers and visitors to proper sources
