$3,253.19 - $4,166.67 (Starting salary is commensurate with experience)
General Description:
This position performs reviews of the Georgia State Minimum Standard Codes for Construction providing technical assistance to local governments regarding development of code enforcement programs and improvement of current code enforcement programs. Also provides interpretation of codes and methods of code compliance, conducts code training, and attends seminars, conferences and workshops as a representative of the Department.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
This position requires the following:Considerable technical competence and knowledge of the Georgia State Minimum Standard Codes for construction Skill in developing and assembling technical and administrative data for presentation Computer literacy and usage skills Skill in oral and written communication Customer service skills Ability to meet and deal effectively with a wide range of individuals, including elected and appointed officials, professionals and professional organizations, and the general public. Ability to review, research and report new materials, systems, standards, and code changes Ability to compose and prepare detailed and revisions to State Minimum Standard Codes for consideration by various accrediting groups and local government officials. Ability to manage multiple tasks
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
And
Two years of professional experience in building construction, inspection, or a related field
