Job Description:

Architectural/Mechanical Draftsman for Sheet Metal/Mechanical Contractor

 

We are a high profile NYC Contractor working on NYC’s largest projects,Office Towers, High Rise Apartment Buildings, Schools, Hospitals and more.

 

We seek a knowledgeable and experienced drafter to add to our engineering and drafting department. We are responsible for importing architectural background along with structural steel shop drawings onto our Cad Duct/AutoCad MEP Ductwork shop drawings. The right candidate should posses the following: Associates Degree or Equivalent Working knowledge of general computer functions and applications. (Word, Excel, etc…) Strong attention to details Willingness to expand knowledge through in house training to transition to Sheet Metal/Ductwork Draftsman. Good Interpersonal Skills, able to work with fellow draftsman as a team. Any experience with ductwork or piping drawings is a plus. Demonstrate understanding of Architectural/Building Processes in terms of coordination of all mechanical trades. Knowledge of construction methods and construction documents Ability to read and interpret structural steel  shop drawings, mechanical subcontractor shop drawings including ductwork, piping, plumbing, electrical and sprinklers. Experienced in AutoCad Architecture 2008 (This includes X-referencing, layer clean up and importing of other drawing programs into AutoCad Architecture through conversion to DWG or importing as solids. Any experience with Revit/Navis works or other 3D BIM programs is a plus
