The Electrical Layout Design Engineer develops detailed co-ordination drawings of underground and above ground equipment and conduit routing details.
Job Responsibilties include, but are not limited to:Developing detailed, two dimensional or three dimensional conduit, cable tray and equipment drawings for coordination with other trades based on the particular job specifications and design documents.Checking as-built conditions that require field-surveying techniques.Preparing documentation requesting clarification of original architectural design and the organization and follow-up of responses.Performing verification and preparation of layout drawings to meet customer requirements.Maintaining CAD system to enhance effectiveness.Applying skills to produce drawings consistent with instruction, guidelines and standards.Managing master file locations, names, file layers and symbology.Reading floor plans, section and elevations; and understanding of layering and pen weights.Confering with engineering staff and other personnel to resolve problems and explaining drawings to production or contstruction teams and providing adjustments as necessary.Drafting working drawings, wiring diagrams, wiring connection specifications or cross-sections of undergroud cables, as required for instructions to installation crew.Representing the Company in job site coordiation meetings with other trades.Required Experience

Requirements:High School degree/GED. A BSEE is preferred.An Electrical Journeymans' license and at least 8 years of commerical electrical field experience.In substitution of an Electrical Journeyman's license, at least 8 years of commercial electrical field experience, 3 years of experience as a Layout Designer, and 3 years of experience using AutoCAD or Microstation.Must have extensive knowledge of NEC practices.At least 8 years of commercial electrical field experience.Experience reading and understanding architectural drawings and blue prints.Electrical Design experience with co-ordinationsKnowledge of construction and electrical specifications.Experience in electrical design and construction installation methods.Detailed understaning of all facets of construction blueprints (architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, plumbing, electrical and special systems).Qualified candidates should apply online with resume and salary requirements to:M.C.
