Eldridge ParkwaySuite 120Houston,Texas 77041 Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Project/Program Management Experience: 2+ to 5 Years Job Description Job Description: The primary responsibility of this position is to manage the execution of installed SimplexGrinnell systems provided at customer sites on schedule, within costs, in a professional manner, and exceeding customer expectations. RESPONSIBILITIES · Primary customer contact for total job responsibility to execute contract within contract obligations.· Participate in proposal activities by assisting the district sales efforts, with such activities as time and cost estimating, and installation requirements.· Ensure a well-defined scope of work is agreed upon prior to the start of work.· Support the Construction Department by assisting in the selection of the necessary subcontractors or employees required to ensure a professional, ethical, and profitable installation that meets contracted and applicable code requirements.· Prepare and update a project manual/folder which will contain a copy of the contracts, all change orders, special commitments, addendum’s, revisions, ship dates, estimated completion date, and other applicable elements necessary to track/monitor the project (including all job package requirements of the local district).· Conduct project kick-off meetings with SimplexGrinnell sales and design teams. Coordinate project reviews with project team and maintain a thorough understanding of contractual requirements including contract conditions, specifications, scope of work, and schedule requirements. Enforce all contract process steps and procedures.· Maintain effective documentation to protect SimplexGrinnell from claims, backcharges, or unfunded work. Resolve and negotiate all specification issues and contract disputes.· Provide input to Purchasing for scheduling equipment to meet project milestone requirements.· Develop and maintain a project schedule that identifies all driving activities that could impact our performance. Interface with the owner/customer to produce a viable work schedule that meets the contractual requirements. Coordinate a resource plan and manpower requirements with the Superintendent.· Schedule and conduct pre-construction and construction meetings at the construction site with the customer and subcontractor’s foreman to develop and discuss job strategy.· Receive and estimate cost and scheduling impact of change orders in conjunction with district sales, and coordinate implementation with customer and appropriate subcontractors.· Maintain all accounting costs, change order activity, and schedules to meet contractual and corporate obligations.· Interface with the Sales and Service Departments to ensure proper operating system and customer satisfaction.· Schedule and conduct a post-construction meeting to discuss project close-out, review job costs, and discuss items which can be of value to all for future bidding and project installations.· Maintain and protect all SimplexGrinnell assets.· Enforce safety program and ensure that all safety training, local safety requirements and OSHA requirements are executed to promote a safe working environment at job site.· Determine contract billing, forecasts, and assist in cash collections to maintain positive cash flow.· Complete additional training requirements through web based and instructor led programs.· Obtain NICET Level III f Fire Alarm Certification REQUIREMENTS Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Two to five years experience in planning, estimating, bidding, and management of installed systems projects in new or existing constructions.
