General Accountant / Bookkeeper

We are looking for an Accountant / Bookkeeper who provides financial information to the organization; maintains general ledger and payroll accounts; summarizes current financial status; reconciles discrepancies; complies with legal requirements; protects organization's assets by maintaining appropriate controls, construction accounting experience a plus!

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Maintains painstaking attention to detail, completing multiple or repetitive tasks. Demonstrates a serious commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting goals or deadlines. Easily analyzes and prioritizes information, distilling it to the critical issues and drawing accurate conclusions. PC experience in Macintosh or Windows environments. Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database software.Proficient in use of accounting systems, implementation of corporate financial practices, and analysis of financial and operating information for management to facilitate decision-making.Manages time effectively and prioritizes completing tasks to meet deadlines.Enter payables into the accounts payable system as assignedGet checks signed and distributed to vendors in a timely mannerCalculate and invoice all applicable charges to projectsResponsible for tracking  job costs through contracts and purchase ordersResponsible for preparing monthly construction draws for multiple projects Work with Project Administrator/Senior Construction Accountant to maintain draw and invoice files
