Function:    Responsible the Midwest sales territory.

Reports to: Director of Sales & Marketing

 

Job Summary:  Sell product through distribution in a geographically defined Midwest sales territory. Account executive is responsible for the retention, growth, & profitability of the territory. Our company headquarters is located in Baltimore, MD with a sales and service center in Chicago, IL.  This position is concentric around Chicago, IL.  Candidates that have a Mid-West home office set-up and meet the responsiblities listed below are encouraged to apply. 

 Key Responsibilities:

 You must possess a minimum of five years of outside sales experience, preferably in the industrial distribution marketplace, with the willingness and skill to build long-term relationships with customers. A pre-existing knowledge of contacts / customers is preferred.

 Position requires all customers, within a territory be visited at least twice /year in person, with additional sales “touches” given over the phone, in person, email, or via direct mail.  The position also requires an account executive to resolve product and service problems and to make occasional “cold” calls in person or over the phone.

 Develop programs with the inside sales / customer service team to build sales and generate a higher success rate on outstanding quotes. 

 Keep management informed by submitting activity reports and territory analys’s.

 Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending trade shows, vendor workshops, establishing personal networks, and by participating in professional societies.

 A successful candidate will have the people friendly skills and determination to work with the corporate headquarters, branch office, & customers in a cohesive manner to reach territory sales goals. A successful candidate will be able to recommend potential products or services to management by collecting customer information and analyzing customer needs.

 Incumbent must be an organized self-starter with the track record and discipline to work from a home office, in a highly productive manner. You must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, e-mail, internet search engines, & basic industrial pricing structures.
