PRODUCTION MANAGER - High End Custom Construction for Award Winning Company
Production Manager – High-End Custom Remodeling for Award-Winning Company
At Tibma Design Build we think being good stewards of our environment, members of our families, and participants in our community…matters. Matters a great deal, in fact.
Over the years, we’ve built our reputation by doing good work, serving our customers in a professional, thoughtful manner, and trying every day to keep our eye on the things that matter.
Details matter. Honesty matters. Teamwork matters.
And we’re hoping to find a like-minded person to join our team and – in particular – help us deliver even better service by organizing our production process.
This is not an easy role to fill. We need someone who combines a number of talents and attributes under one roof (so to speak) and enjoys wearing multiple hats:
- We need someone who is highly organized, and can still work effectively managing people. We have a talented team of PM/Lead Carpenters ranging from 7-27 years of experience and each needs different levels of direction and support.
- We need someone who understands (and even enjoys!) the constant compromises and challenges of the construction process, and yet can still manage a schedule. “Stuff” happens. We get it. But we need someone who sees more than ½ of the “stuff” coming, and can deftly and professionally manage the parts that catch them off guard.
- We need someone who is experienced enough in high-end residential construction to mentor and support our field staff on best-practices in a collaborative manner.
- We need someone who understands that while construction is a wild and wholly process, there are still some processes & procedures that have to be followed in order for all parties to a project to win.
Yeah, yeah… alright. I know what you’re thinking: “All I’m hearing is, “we need” this and “we need” that. What about my needs!?!” J
Well that’s a fair question. Your needs matter too.
And in that connection if you work with us you will enjoy a competitive salary and excellent benefits which include health insurance, and 401K.
You’ll work 9 days out of 10 (we ALL have our bad days! :) in a collegial, collaborative working environment with excellent people.
You’ll also be spending most of your day in some brand new office space just coming on line next month which is located conveniently right off 95/128.
The owners, Dan and Mary Tibma, are honest, hard working people who want to do what is right and fair in all of their relationships… be they business or personal. You’ll work for and with good bosses.
Long and short… you’ll get to work on interesting projects with good people.
So… if this sounds like a “win-win” to you -- and you can demonstrate success in some or all of the areas I’ve mentioned -- then please be in touch.
The best way to reach out is to email a Resume and Project List to Brian Roberts at: brianroberts@tibmadesignbuild.com . If fax is your thing (and by 2008, for a role like this, it really shouldn’t be!) the fax number is: 781.932.6412
Now, while I’m thinking of it, let me offer a couple caveats to save everyone time. (Because time matters!)
First, if the bulk of your career has not been spent in high-end residential construction – particularly remodeling -- this probably won’t be a great fit. The gulf between new residential/commercial and custom renovations is just too wide in our experience.
Second, if you’ve mostly been working in the field to this point in your career this will probably be a stretch, too. We really need to talk to folks who have run multiple projects simultaneously, and are already familiar with the business end of the process. Not to say a skilled craftsperson or site manager couldn’t learn this role – many of the finest PM’s I know have come from the field -- we just don’t have the bandwidth to accommodate a learning curve at this point.
Now all that being said, we are always looking to talk to highly skilled carpenters and craftspeople, too, of course so you’re welcome to drop a line if you’re skilled with the tools. Just be prepared to show examples of your work. (There is nothing harder than qualifying a great carpenter over email!!!). If you send photos of your work it will help a lot.
Well friends, if you’ve made it all the way to the end of this ad then you’ve certainly earned a well deserved “Thank you very much for your interest”!
We very much look forward to hearing from you.
