Please visit our website at www.cce-inc.com Scope of Responsibility: Primary responsibility to perform conceptual estimating for design build projects in the preliminary phase and to perform detailed quantity take-offs and final pricing in architectural, electrical, civil/structural and mechanical disciplines using a computerized estimating program for indefinite quantity job order contracts.Position Duties:• Prepare conceptual estimates for design build projects based on site visits, review of preliminary drawings, preliminary scope of work and customer interface. • Attend pre-issuance site visits to determine existing conditions, develop client needs in detail, and develop preliminary approximations of types of materials to be used, basic quantity counts, and costs/budgets. • Develop subcontractor contacts and work closely with them to develop preliminary budgets. • Identify scope of work and prepare quantity surveys from preliminary drawings. • Monitor drawings from schematic, through design development and working drawings to ensure project stays within budget. • Develop cost model estimates during design to assist owner in preparation of project pro-forma and comparison to design to budget. • Assists in preparing estimates for each delivery order based on technical specifications and drawings or sketches; where feasible provide possible value engineering suggestions. • Determine most economical material that conforms to project drawings and specifications. • Confirm that all necessary materials and supplies are included in the scope of work and that unnecessary items are excluded. • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for each job order and enter line items into on-site computer containing the Unit Price Book software. • Solicit detailed proposal information from at least three vendors and/or subcontractors with all supporting documentation on equipment, material and labor costs for material or equipment not covered in an industry standard manual or for work to be performed by a subcontractor. • Evaluate proposals from vendors and/or subcontractors for compliance with scope of work. Minimum Qualifications: • B.S. degree in construction or engineering or 8 years experience in construction • Familiarity with construction means and methods • Familiarity with the Design Build process • Good understanding of principles, methods, and techniques of architectural, civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering for performing conceptual estimates and detailed quantity take-offs • Computer expertise with estimating systems • Good oral and written communications skills For quick consideration apply here
