Terrific growth opportunity for the right person in our Dade City office. Cornerstone is a highly regarded, Commercial Building Contractor and Landscape Construction Firm, specializing in commercial building, hardscapes, landscape, design, maintenance, irrigation and stormwater management for commercial and residential properties in Pasco, Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee and Pinellas Counties. We currently have an open spot as a Purchasing Coordinator with in our construction department.
Position Summary:
The candidate will coordinate with management team, vendors, subcontractors and permitting agencies to assemble pricing and proposals for ongoing and prospective projects. Responsibilities include all facets of purchasing from verifying product availability, budgeting, and buying of materials and subcontracts as required to complete each project. Also responsible for working with other company branches and departments, entities for proper planning, coordination and execution of work to meet deadlines, within budget, attaining or exceeding profit goals, promoting and enhancing client relationships and the company image.
Responsibilities:
· Negotiate prices with vendors; proactively seek out product/vendors in order to obtain best pricing & terms.
· Be involved with initial project schedule and product availability and communicate sequence and schedule to all vendors and contractors.
· Actively participate and/or lead formal bid process including developing all bid package documentation from drawings, specifications, bid forms, contracts, insurances, etc to through final buyout.
· Act as a resource to provide availability of materials and contractors to assist all members of project team.
· Assist in material handling safety programs in accordance with Policies and Processes.
· Perform review of all contract documents for potential conflicts or interpretation issues relative to our budgets and scope related issues with same.
· Attends project management, client, purchasing, and meetings as required.
· Request quotes, analyze pricing and compliance, prepare contracts and process present the required documentation
Qualifications:
· Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent for a Construction firm
· Approximately 5 years experience in the construction field
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management a Plus
· Worked closely with project managers and superintendents, knowledge of purchasing software and the ability to maintain proper cost and quality control over all items purchased.
· Strong organizational skills, well-honed negotiation skills, excellent communication skills both verbal and written, ability to work independently or as a team and to multitask effectively.
· Review specifications and architectural drawings to confirm scope of work, including material and labor requirements
· Ability to read blue and prints and do "take offs" is a plus
· Computer experience with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook a must.
