SECURITY TECHNICIANS

 

Security and Data Technologies, Inc – SDT- a regional leader in the design, installation, and service of a comprehensive array of networked and integrated security, fire alarm, nurse call, and communications systems is currently seeking experienced SECURITY/ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM TECHNICIANS. 



JOB DESCRIPTION:
In this position, you will perform service on electronic security systems, nurse call, sound, access control, CCTV systems and other building systems products at customer sites; read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals; utilize a laptop to manage daily call activity and archive test results.  You will be responsible for taking care of the projects, calls dispatched and paperwork necessary for the completion of your duties.



RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Install, commission, troubleshoot and service.
• Be timely in your attendance at work and for on-call duties
• Perform a wide variety of duties including attending training classes when available
• Backup other technicians for technical support and overflow calls
• Keep track, and turn in all documentation and reports for projects
• Process and compile daily reports for weekly business and productivity
• Attend and participate in meetings regarding various projects both internal and external
• Assist customers with any and all questions and or concerns while on the job
• Perform training on various systems to customers

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral, Technical School Education is Preferred.
• Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 40 lbs., ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
• Working knowledge of Computers and Windows software.  Computer competent, familiarity with programming and maneuvering through access control software.
• A valid driver’s license with a good driving record, and able to pass an FBI background check, is required. 
 

A Technical Representative will work forty (40) hours per week, typically daytime, Monday through Friday, be willing and able to work overtime when available (pay x 1.5).  Additionally, must be able to fit into the on-call rotation.  A company supplied and equipped vehicle will be provided for use during the work day.
