Shawmut is searching for an accounting professional to join its Reporting, Budgets & Analysis team. The primary responsibilities for this role include the month-end close process, financial reporting, and budgeting and analysis for the Company under the direction of the Reporting, Budgeting and Analysis (RB&A) manager. This role is a key resource to provide timely financial information to the Company's senior management, its Board of Directors and other external constituents (i.e., lenders, surety, ESOP Trustee, etc.).
JOB DUTIES
Month- end Close: Assist with the month-end close process, which includes recording monthly general ledger entries, gathering and organizing all necessary supporting documentation for the monthly financial statements, and preparing various analyses and reconciliations to ensure data is 100% accurate.
Sub-ledger Maintenance: All deliverables associated with maintaining General Ledger sub-ledgers with 100% accuracy. This area may include reviewing and maintaining accounts receivable balances, fixed asset ledgers, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, etc.
Financial Reporting, Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist with all 'corporate' financial reporting deliverables including the monthly financial reporting package to management, supplemental financial reports, and other analysis on various special projects. In addition, this role will act as a key resource for department managers by reviewing actual expenditures against budget and analyzing variances to help ensure accurate monthly projections and prudent spending/decision making. This person will also have a significant support and analysis role in the annual budgeting process.
Treasury Management and Analysis: Assist with treasury analysis to forecast cash flow.
Year- end Audit Assistance: Act as a key contact for the Company's external auditors to ensure a smooth year end audit, and assist with the production the Company's year-end audited financial statements.
Special Projects: Participate in numerous special projects at the request of senior management, including board of director reporting deliverables, key analyses and planning. Other special projects could include streamlining processes or developing resources to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.
EXPERIENCE
Candidates for this role require a BS/BA in Accounting and at least 2 to 3 years of public accounting experience, including experience with financial statement audits. Experience working in the construction industry and/or a C.P.A. is preferred. Experience with an ERP implementation or system is also a plus.
