Vice President Business Development

Our client, headquartered in Florida, and a leading developer of award winning master-planned communities, currently seeks a Vice President Economic/Commercial Development for their newest endeavor in southwest Florida. The community consists of 17,000 acres, and will provide a full range of housing in all price ranges. In addition, there will be up to six million square feet of retail and commercial space.

General Position Description: 

The Vice President Economic/Commercial Development will be the initial key spokesperson for the promotion of future business development within development. This position is responsible for planning, initiating and directing strategies to attract industries and businesses.

 

Specific Responsibilities:Responsible for creating a comprehensive long-range plan to attract private sector core businesses/industryPromotes property as a viable option for location of businesses/industry by contacting regional, national and international businesses compatible with the sustainable vision of the communityDevelops corporate relocation and economic strategies. Represents the company at meetings and trade shows with presentations Works closely with county, regional and state officials and management..Creates and maintains collateral material to facilitate promotional efforts

Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Real Estate  or Public Administration or relatedFlorida Market experience preferredA minimum of 7 to 10 years experience in the private sector in the area of economic and business development. Candidates with combined public/private experience will also be considered.Thorough knowledge of effective principles, practices and methods of public and private economic/business development essential. Experience with corporate relocation needs and initiativesProficiency in the principals of public relations and marketing of economic business development.Strong interpersonal skills and presentation skillsProven negotiation and contract skillsSelf starter and energeticResults orientedStrong computer and analytical skills
