3rd Party Operations Leader/Supervisor 

n Manage a group of logistic professionals to help oversee Third Party Logistics activities; ensuring exceptional customer service, accurate order fulfillment, and on-time delivery of shipments.

n Direct reporting relationship to Head of US Supply Chain and Head of Regional Distribution.

n Work closely with US Customer Service, Sales Planning, Supply Management Director, and supply plant Logistics Managers to ensure customer service and inventory management.

n Recommend and help establish “best practices” in the areas of distribution management, such as:

- Process Integration with customers and suppliers

- Customer-driven measurements

n Identify and communicate potential issues regarding customer service and inventory investment working proactively with Manufacturing, Sales Administration, and Finance to develop recommended actions.  Ensure implementation of the recommended actions.

 



Strategic Planning



 

n Lead process for establishing and maintaining contracts with distribution and transportation for Third Party Logistics.  Work with Supply Chain Leadership team, Legal, and Purchasing groups to complete contracts.

n Support development and implementation of supply chain initiatives requested by customers to optimize supply chain performance and add value.

n Develop the US Supply Chain Team’s KPI targets for on-time delivery, customer service, and inventory management.  Ensure these KPIs are managed and met by Third Party Logistics providers.

 Operational Responsibilities

 

n Responsible for management of Third Party Logistics distribution and transportation providers servicing the US Supply Chain.

n Ensure Third Party Logistics execution of service and quality standards and measures Third Party Logistics performance levels. Provide Third Party Logistics providers with company policies and procedures.

n Communicate business changes, share business forecasts and other key planning data, maintaining solid communication to internal and external customers.

n Responsible for budgeting, hiring and managing a staff; quarterly reviews with vendors; and partnering with Third Party Logistics to identify and implement cost reduction opportunities.

n Direct and implement material handling and distribution procedures to meet established productivity and service goals.

n Ensure satisfaction with distribution services, solicit feedback and suggestions from customers, and resolve problems as required.

n Proactively coordinate the communication to the US Business Team regarding US Supply Chain distribution management and customer service information.

n Provide leadership and training for US Distribution staff.

n Drive the assessment of US Distribution performance and proactive mitigation of distribution issues:

Ø  Prepare report on US Third Party Logistics performance to plan

Ø  Assess customer service & inventory investment results and implements plans to correct any deficiencies

 Requirements

 

n Education – BS or MS degree, Logistics, Operations Management

n Experience - A minimum of 2 to 5 years supervisory experience in distribution or transportation.

n Experience in managing in a third party logistics provider and Third Party Logistics contracts.

n Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

n Strong belief in superior customer service.

n Ability to solve problems and make decisions that are in the best interest of the customer and the company.

n Self-starter who exhibits extraordinary levels of motivation, and a proven ability to run a remote operation with no on-site supervision.


 

Compensation will be in the 50 - 70 range, plus corporate bonus.
