Position Purpose: To grow and service a quality loan portfolio consistent with Finance Co. business objectives and effectively manage loan losses.

60% Generates loan volume, interacts with applicants/borrowers, prepares credit analysis and credit presentations for new and existing credits, presents applications for approval decisions to credit committee, negotiates and structures loan terms, and manages credit risk. Complies with underwriting and credit administration standards.

20% Services loan portfolio, makes on farm visits, performs collateral inspections and reviews borrower business and marketing plans.

10% Provides assistance/back-up to other Finance Co. Loan Officers as necessary.

5% Manages risk assets.

5% Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Required (Basic) Experience & Education: Bachelors degree in Agriculture Business, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of five years progressive agricultural lending experience. Knowledge of agriculture lending laws, including chattel and real estate, bankruptcy, and collection processes. Knowledge of livestock production in large and commercial operations.

 

Required Competencies & Other Skills: Strong credit analysis skills. Effective and efficient analysis of loan applications, financial information and business plans. Understanding of asset/liability management, loan pricing, interest margins and loan profitability. Knowledge of credit bureau, chattel and real estate searches and understanding and interpretation of their results. Knowledge of risk management fundamentals, financial analysis and loan structure. Ability to participate in the development of and effective execution of a comprehensive marketing plan. Understanding of collateral evaluation and perfection processes. Strong and effective oral and written communication, interpersonal, and team skills. Good decision making and effective problem solving skills. Good speaking/presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products and other internal or Third-Party applicable supporting systems.

 

Preferred Experience & Education: Ten years progressive agricultural lending experience.

Percentage of travel 10%
