Job Title:  Assistant Prep Tech

Reports to: Pre-Press Manager

Department: Plate Room

 

 

This position may be working night shift.  There are two open positions.

 

Summary:  Learn all plate making and plate mounting techniques in the plate department.   

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.

* Responsible for the production of flexo and offset plates

* Ensure quality of all plates produced

* Check negatives/plates and fill out film checklist

* Check exposure units and chemistry levels during the plate making process

* Review and follow work instructions

* Label and file negatives

* Strip and clean plate cylinders and sleeves

* Learn plate mounting techniques

* General maintenance, housekeeping, and staging area

* Pro-active attitude

* Track time and material usage through VIEW system

* Consistent and accurate tracking of materials and hours required for each job

* All other duties as assigned by Prepress Manager or Prepress Tech in charge of training

Education and/or Experience:  

* High School diploma (or equivalent)  

 

Mathematical Skills:  

* General math aptitude

 

Reasoning Ability:  

* Ability to solve problems in real-time situations

* Excellent follow-up skills

* Ability to work in a team environment 

* Proactive in methods of cost control
