BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Corporate Audit provides independent reassurance to the Board and Management of Unilever that all major risks affecting the achievement of Unilever’s strategic objectives are understood and managed.

The department has approximately 100 audit staff across the world, based in a number of countries in Europe, Asia, Latin America and North America. The department is highly regarded and is recognised as an excellent training ground for the development of high calibre managers. It also provides an excellent opportunity to gain an in-depth knowledge of Unilever’s goals, processes and values. Corporate audit is multi-functional with members from all corners of Unilever.

MAIN JOB PURPOSE
We are seeking to recruit an Audit Manager to join our team in Americas. This is a unique opportunity for a high calibre Unilever employee who is looking for global exposure to:
- Unilever’s operating framework
- Senior management, eg operating company boards or regional or category management
- Cross functional experience
- Risk Management and controls
- Corporate Governance

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
Corporate audit is a unique experience that operates outside the traditional functional boundaries. We are interested in high calibre candidates from all functions in the business. Effective management of risk and governance is important in all areas of the business. We therefore need skills from all areas of the business to assure this.

The role involves a high degree of contact with Management including senior management together with the development of strong competencies in communications, the ability to influence others and team working. Fluent written English is required and fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese would be a strong advantage. Note: No previous finance or audit experience necessary.

TRAVEL
Gaining exposure to different businesses, processes and cultures is a major benefit of the role and this will involve significant travel in the Americas region and globally. Currently we operate a “1-3-1” audit process which allows auditors to spend more time at home. For Americas this means spending between 50% and 60% of your time travelling. Typically, because of the intensive and unique nature of the work and quantity of travelling involved the tenure as Audit Manager is between 2 and 2½ years.
