BUSINESS MANAGER (Job# 2597)

The Business Manager (BM) is a top sales position intended to increase  sales and penetration of national and regional branded items in the dry grocery, deli, freezer, candy/snack and/or sundries categories.

 

Specific Responsibilities:Enhance sales penetration within each category and improve profitability. Source and develop new items and secure new principal representation that is strategically in the best interest of ADW and the Customer Generate, prioritize and actively pursue sales opportunities. Work with principals to determine appropriate pack/size, packaging and product formulations prior to presenting to buyers. Negotiate win/win programs and solutions by identifying branded programs/items to fill voids. Initiate and Manage special projects as they occur Prepare, facilitate meetings and produce sales related documentation for presentation to Costco Buyers and/or Vendors Develop and maintain trusting relationships with ADW Associates, Vendors, and Costco Buying staff Initiate new ways to research opportunities and relevant information. Pursue sources of information (trade magazines and associations, competitive checks, Market Research etc.) to enhance program performance for the Customer and Vendor. Support our programs and maximize sales by understanding Costco objectives, resolving any daily issues that arise, and building relationships Understand Vendors marketing programs as needed and help manage execution and evaluation of them Be involved in purchase order processing and problem solving as a back-up to sales support staff in times of need Participate at all levels of sales process from document preparation to sales presentations and program execution Develop skills to create demand for the products of our Vendors Successfully maintain ongoing programs Possess a comprehensive knowledge of the Customer’s operation and key competitors Possess a comprehensive knowledge of each Vendor’s operation and key competitors. Understand and meet Vendor business objectives; Present the customer's Buyers with up-to-date information about market trends Resolve problems that occur such as late or incorrect deliveries, product quality, packaging, billing, etc. Resolve any political conflicts that may arise

Key Requirements:At least 10 years of work experience Bachelor’s degree. Strong communication skills Good follow-through Well organized, Selling skills Excellent Verbal and Written skills Attention to Detail Sense of Urgency Ability to prioritize Effective self-management skills Customer Focus Multi-tasking Organization skills Confidence ?
