Associate Brand Manager Major Consumer Products Company Position Summary · Use category knowledge to assist in the development of creative and well-integrated brand marketing strategies.· Utilize product knowledge and marketing skills to independently implement a wide variety of brand marketing programs.· Competently handle the “day to day” issues & communications with outside vendors and other departments.· Assist in the compilation and analysis of data to assist the Brand Manager in the identification of critical business issues, opportunities and to make recommendations based on that analysis.· Develop and support the execution of POP and other merchandising tactics; displays, signage, counter trays, etc.· Adapt existing items, both seasonal and everyday, in response to account specific requests based on approved channel and/or customer strategies. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Implement the tactical execution of consumer communications through the development of well-integrated promotions, packaging, POP/merchandising and on-line activities. Recommend and execute other potential forms of consumer engagement; sponsorships, sampling programs, sweepstakes, event marketing, etc. Recap each event with an analysis of the expenditures and the resulting business benefit. Assume the leadership role in the development of our seasonal business; Turn solid analysis of seasonal business into actionable recommendations to increase both units and margin and to meet new consumer/ channel needs or match competitive situations. Read industry/trade publications and attend industry events to gain insight on consumer attitudes, behaviors and trends. Help identify opportunities for the Brand by monitoring trends. Coordinate the development of channel and customer level merchandising tactics; including but not limited to corrugate displays, POS materials, counter displays and pallet programs. Respond to sales approved requests for the adaptation of products and packaging to satisfy specific channel or retailer request. This includes, but is not limited to warehouse club products/ packaging and customer specific size and packaging requests for all seasonal products and corresponding displays. Working with Supply Chain and Trade Marketing, oversee the creation of all new product samples and packaging mock ups to provide the sales force with the appropriate quantity required for key account calls, trade shows and broker mailings. REQUIREMENTS· Bachelors Degree, (preferably in Marketing) with solid understanding of marketing principles and practices as applied to consumer packaged goods. MBA a plus· 2+ years of experience in brand/marketing management or related field in CPG company.· A minimum of 1 years experience in merchandising and POS preferred · Strong analytical and financial skills; working knowledge of IRI and SAP a plus.· Verifiable creative thinker with insights into consumer behavior and emerging marketing methods; some consumer website knowledge a plus.· Ability to contribute to the development and execution of Marketing Plans; ability to evaluate results financially and strategically.· Strong project management skills; attention to detail and the ability to coordinate many tasks.· Ability to lead cross-functional teams, including internal groups and outside agencies.· Strong skills in written and oral communication; strong presentation skills.· Good organizational and time-management skills.· Basic understanding of licensing and other promotional events & opportunities is a plus.
