Title: Brewer Quality Manager

 

Reports to: Director of Quality

 

Date:  April 25, 2008

 

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

Facilitate continuous quality improvement of Keurig brewers:

 Manage and direct product verification and validation efforts to confirm that design goals have been attained and specifications metDevelop hardware / software test protocols for brewer and component verification, validation, qualification, and life test activities; direct design and construction of  related  test fixtures and / or systems as requiredProvide new product development support as the QA representative in product development teams Provide QA support to and oversight of manufacturing partners for new product launches and continuing product manufacturing; review pre-ship inspection reports and approve shipment releasesDirect returned brewer analysis, monitor field issue data, and report quality trends and issues to senior management in a timely mannerPeriodically audit manufacturing partners and suppliers to assure that they are maintaining effective quality systemsManage an effective corrective and preventive action program with suppliers and manufacturing partnersManage / direct Calibration program for measurement instrumentsPerform / direct First Article Inspections (FAI) and analysis, including critical dimension reviewsReview and approve Engineering Change Notices on behalf of QASupervise and mentor a staff of six salaried and hourly employees, as well as temporary personnelOther related duties as required

 

 

Skills, Experience and Education Requirements:

 BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial EngineeringEight years minimum relevant industrial experience, with at least two in supervision or management Proven leadership, mentoring, and training skillsExcellent interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with other company departments (particularly engineering), as well as partner organizations, suppliers, and customers.Ability to effectively manage multiple projectsStrong background in Quality, including ISO 9001, process auditing statistical analysis, process capability, SPC, DOE, sampling plans, etc.Solid background in use of analysis and test software such as MS Excel, MS Access, Minitab, Labview, etc.Strong written and verbal communication skillsUp to 30% domestic and international travel requiredOff-shore contract manufacturing experience a plusCurrent ASQ Quality Engineer, Manager, and/ or Auditor Certification desirable.
