Business Analysis Manager – Eastern Sales
Maurice Sporting Goods, established in 1923, is the largest distributor of outdoor sporting goods to mass retail customers throughout North America. Our Eastern Sales Team has an exceptional career opportunity for a sales-minded Business Analysis Manager to serve as business partner to our VP, Eastern Sales and provide his team with resources, analysis and recommendations to develop/refine category-based selling strategies and tactics. Areas of focus will include analyzing consumer insights, sales trends, POS data and other relevant information and providing guidance that will optimize business performance including category sales, gross margins and GMROII (gross margin return on inventory investment). The Business Analysis Manager will also serve as point of contact for MSG Information Technology Group. Specific responsibilities include:
Sales analysis / reporting –
Assist account managers with program development that supports corporate timelines, optimizing pricing strategies, assortment planning, profitability analysis, replenishment, seasonal sales opportunities and promotional planning. Provide analytical support that maximizes MSG product performance at the retail level through developing and analyzing sales data (POS, inventory, in-stocks) for the Eastern Sales Region.Evaluate category/item retail performance and seasonal trends and make recommendations to Account Managers on inventory and POG strategies to support MSG category and vendor initiatives.Create tracking reports for promotional activity targeting new items, programs, features, and advertising.Monitor account progress against category budgets by generating weekly, quarterly and selected POS performance reports that provide meaningful highlights, summaries and guidance.Assist the account teams and major customers in enhancing retail performance by developing and analyzing key scorecard metrics, monitoring top & bottom store performance and by providing recommendations for seasonal / regional trends and inventory adjustments based on data interpretation.
Budgeting/Forecasting –
Provide analytical support to Eastern Regional Sales Team and Purchasing that accounts for adherence to corporate timelines, sales budget development, pricing strategies, profitability analysis and ILF forecasting.Provide assistance to the regional VP in the key business management responsibilities of the day to day business. These include regional sales forecast development and management, regional / customer specific P&L management and sales reporting and summary analysis.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, mathematics or equivalent plus five years related account/category management experience.Demonstrated strengths in POS and financial analysis.Proficient in leveraging technology to drive the business and in learning new software applications.Entrepreneurial spirit, a deep desire to excel in business and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, rapidly developing work environment.Strong customer focus, exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills.Strategic mindset, business savvy, creativity, and the ability to influence and negotiate in a professional manner.Exceptional analytical, project management and organizational skills coupled with attention to detail.Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.An assertive team player who excels in developing strong internal and external working relationships.
