We currently have an opening for a Category Analyst - Minneapolis

 

Summary of Position: The purpose of this position is to provide support for category management efforts for Supervalu and Target team.  The Category Analyst will prepare for and participate in presentations to our customers on topics ranging from business reviews, new item presentations, assortment optimization recommendations, to other ad hoc analyses that help identify opportunities. The Category Analyst will help identify insights and formulate recommendations that will maximize Dannon and overall category profitability via interpretation of consumer and customer data.

Responsibilities:Manage preparation of data analysis utilizing industry sources (IRI, Consumer Data, and Customer Loyalty Card Data, retailer specific data) in order to understand trends.  Provide fact-based, tangible recommendations supporting Category Management and key Sales initiatives.

·  Provide assortment, schematic, plan-o-gram and merchandising analysis and recommendations to the customers, with guidance from Category Manage

·  Support the development of retailer presentations, business reviews, new item presentations and other customer meetings.

·  Responsible for creation and distribution of monthly sales reports (e.g. top line, ranking, space to share, new item tracking, display, etc).  Review account trends with Field Sales on a monthly basis in order gain alignment on business priorities

·  Assist (Sr.) Category Manager in utilizing Shopper Insight Tools to formulate recommendations in support of AMPS (Assortment, Merchandising, Pricing and Shelving) and Shelf Expansion Initiatives.

·  Analyzing problems, forming opinions and making decisions through careful testing of assumptions and facts.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

(A) Minimum

·  Bachelors Degree in Business Administration

·  2-3 years sales analytic experience, preferably with or within the CPG industry

·   Experience with various sales analytic software (e.g. IRI/Nielsen, Apollo/ProSpace, Spectra)

·  Proficient in Excel and Powerpoint

·  Sales presentation and development experience

·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills and flexibility

·  Ability to travel (approx. 10-15 % of time)

·  Excellent interpersonal skills

·  Team oriented (ability to connect with and work cohesively with the field sales organization)
