We currently have an opening in the US Law Department located in Chicago for a corporate counsel. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to provide sound legal advice to all levels of the organization through complete understanding of the business objectives and risk assessment. Success at Dyson requires enthusiasm, dynamism, entrepreneurial flair, and most importantly a desire to truly challenge the norm. Corporate Counsel will report directly into the General Counsel.

This is what we need you to do...Key Responsibilities
• Review, draft and negotiate successful commercial contracts including but not limited to master service agreements, terms and conditions and vendor agreements.
• Efficiently manage a large volume and variety of transactions, negotiating numerous complex deals simultaneously while balancing appropriate legal and business risks.
• Work with marketing team on advertising/promotional materials and claims substantiation.
• Partner with the commercial division in developing and implementing policies and procedures to support business objectives.
• Assist in special ad hoc projects on an as needed basis


This is what we need you to have...

Key Qualifications
• 3 – 5 years of general corporate experience law firm or in-house; in-house experience preferred
• Solid generalist background, including contract review, drafting and negotiating.
• Ability to effectively communicate legal interpretations to all levels of management.
• Experience reviewing marketing and promotional materials.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to demonstrate sensitivity, tact and professionalism in dealing with internal clients and colleagues and external agencies and counsel.
• Self-motivated and able to work in a dynamic environment.
• High degree of organizational and time management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple, complex projects when necessary.
• Experience in developing policies and procedures for ensuring corporate compliance.
• Travel as necessary.
• Graduation from an accredited law school and licensed to practice in at least one (1) state, Illinois preferred.
