Credit Clerk

Company in Covington, GA looking for a Credit Clerk to perform clerical, credit and collection activities, within the guidelines of Company policy.

Job Duties:Calls, writes, or uses computer to gather credit history from credit reporting groups, suppliers, banks, personal references, and other sources as needed.Builds, and maintains integrity of customer credit files.Notifies customer, and sales representatives by mail, or telephone, of acceptance or rejection of application.Keeps records or files of credit transactions, correspondence, and payments, and sends letters or confers with customers having delinquent accounts to make payment.Writes adjustments to offset errors, or make policy concessions to a customer account.Advises sales representatives of delinquent or over-extended accounts.Investigates balance disputes by researching shipping documents, payment history, requesting proof of delivery, and using other means as necessary.Processes and sends all checks to lock box that are received for payment on a customer account.Diligently works with customers, sales representatives, and outside collection agencies to collect past due balances.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Only applicants with one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
