SUMMARY:

The credit manager will primarily be responsible for assessing and managing the credit risk in an assigned accounts receivable portfolio. This position is responsible for managing the same portfolio within the order-to-cash cycle in accordance with departmental and company guidelines and objectives.  Responsible for minimizing TomTom’s AR credit risk.

 

Core Responsibilities:

· Manage and improve credit policies and procedures for cash, credit and dispute resolution

· Manage orders against credit line and AR guidelines

· Review performance related data, payment trends, scoring and take appropriate action to Mitigate potential risk of loss while optimizing sales opportunities

· Establish credit lines under sign off authority and provide formal recommendation for all others exceeding sign off authority.

· Negotiate with customers for suitable secured credit options, process new account applications and process customer master maintenance modifications.

· Manage a small staff, mentor and coach direct reports

· Analyze financial statements; identifying liquidity, solvency, leverage, efficiency and profitability ratios as well as other metrics, incorporate third party information such as D&B reporting and credit reference checks as appropriate.

· Monitor payment trends, scoring changes, flash report communiqués and, financial statement analysis, take appropriate corrective action to mitigate the potential for risk of loss in an-going basis.

· Process all new credit line account applications in accordance with financial guidelines, as well as company policy.

· Solicit additional financial information, articles of incorporation, potential guarantor, release agreements, letters of credit, security agreements, etc. when deemed necessary to enable further processing and to reach a suitable credit decision.

· Responsible for maintaining the integrity of customer master records (bill to and ship to, payment terms, resale certificates) in accordance with company policies and practices

· Develop relationships cross functionally, with customers and with global colleagues

 

 

Qualifications:

 

· BS in business or finance

· 8 to 10 years experience in credit, with at least 2 years in  a management role and preference for Retail background or understanding

· Proven  track record of implementing initiatives to improve credit process and procedures

· Ability to interpret the information contained in reports from data providers and is able to synthesize and incorporate it in formulating an independent overall credit decision for each new application.

· Able to negotiate compromises concerning credit relationships and cash collections that meet the expectations of all parties to the extent possible.

· Experience with retail dispute resolution processes is preferred

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work with people at all levels of the organization.
