Position Summary: Position is located in Lisle, IL

The Customer Service Specialist is responsible for executing the various facets of the Customer Service team strategy. Specific activities of the Customer Service Specialist will include order entry/management, customer service, tracking and tracing of orders.  This position also plays a role in identifying problem areas associated with order entry/management and maintenance.

 

Position Responsibilities:

· Responsible for executing the strategic financial and operational objectives as established by the Team Supervisors.

· Responsible for processing orders received from customers.

· Responsible for managing post receipt order activity, (i.e. delivery date or delivery terms changes, quantity, item deletions and additions).

· Responsible for handling sales/customer inquiries about product information, financial information, company policy, promotion information and order status.

· Responsible for assuring complete and accurate order data and data entry, with clear communication to Sales regarding cut or allocation situations.  Communicates and coordinates with plant/warehouses on orders outside the normal policy or normal production, capability, etc., to enable Unilever a better opportunity to service the customer.

· Responsible for ad-hoc reporting on an as needed basis.

Qualifications:

· Problem Solving/Objective Analytical Power--- Develop accurate, objective assessments of the issues even in complex or difficult situations.  Ability to understand what needs to be accomplished and how to make it happen.  As issues arise in meeting customer requirements analysis and problem solving are critical to ensure resolution and agreed service KPI levels.

· Communications--- Verbal and written communications to both internal and external customers

· Team Commitment---Works cooperatively as a member of a team and is committed to the overall team objectives rather than own interests.

· Practical Creativity---Demonstrates flexibility of thinking.  Creates new business insights which can be turned into realistic plans.  In problem solving customer service issues, creative thinking is necessary to meet/exceed customer requirements. Ability to recognize and leverage all available resources.

· Self Confident Integrity Motivated by conviction and values re: appropriate behaviors/actions.  Will take difficult decisions as required.

· Customer Service Coordination--- Delivery of customer service to meet customer requirements at the agreed service levels.  To include order entry/management and
communication to the customer. Strong follow-up skills a must.

· Time Management---- The ability to plan and organize activities in order to accomplish goals in a timely manner both individually and within a team.

· Systems Applications--- Proficiency with computers and applications.  SAP a must.

 

Education:

High school diploma or GED required

College degree preferred

 

Experience:

At least 3 years of related business experience
