Position Summary
We are currently searching for Process Area Manager for our plant in Hammond, IN. The position is responsible for providing high quality bulk product to production stamping lines and other business units in a timely, safe and cost effective manner.
The Process Area Manager is also responsible for the leadership of the Defi Process area, directing daily operation, as well as being responsible for leading the TPM improvement activities within business unit and facilitating process changes required to achieve business needs.
Position Responsibilities
1) Responsible for following Company and Plant Environmental Policies and for maintaining all appropriate Environmental Regulations. Responsible for Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) activities and performance within process area.
2) Ensure product is produced in accordance with plant schedule, cGMP’s, & SHE directives.
3) Manage the Defi Process skill development, training and education of associates. Capitalize on department individuals’ contributions to help achieve departmental goals and deliverables.
4) Provide leadership within the Defi Process area for TPM activities in an effort to drive Process performance and improvements to achieve maximized business profitability by increasing throughputs, reducing losses, and improving overall morale.
5) Responsible to follow all plant/department safety rules/procedures. Attend all safety training. Be able to demonstrate an understanding of all safety training topics. Service on a safety team.
6) Understand operational and technical issues and work directly with plant management to identify required objectives and allocate resources appropriately.
7) Facilitate and aid upcoming equipment or system changes driven by business cost reductions, product innovations/renovations and shifts in inventory management.
8) Provide individual recognition and job satisfaction to teammates while emphasizing an inter-department multiple shift team effort toward production goals.
Education and Experience:
Undergraduate degree in science and/or engineering. B.S. Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry preferred.
3 - 5 years manufacturing leadership in a fast-moving consumer goods production environment.
Working knowledge of computers, basic application software, and process control systems required.
Technical ability and understanding of compounding processes and equipment preferred.

Management: Ability to understand and perform financial management and analysis. Ability to design processes and components to meet program objectives.
Team Commitment: Encourages and supports teamwork as a means to accomplish objectives. Will be part of cross-functional teams, both in leader and individual contributor roles.
