Design Manager

World Kitchen, LLC manufactures and markets bakeware, dinnerware, kitchen and household tools, rangetop cookware and cutlery products sold under well-known and trusted brands including CorningWare®, Pyrex®, CORELLE®, Revere®, EKCO®, Baker’s Secret®, Magnalite®, Chicago Cutlery®, and OLFA®.

World Kitchen employs approximately 2,700 people, and has major manufacturing and distribution operations in the United States, Canada, and Asia-Pacific regions. World Kitchen sells products through multiple channels, including mass merchants, department stores, specialty retailers and our own stores.

 

In this highly visible role the Design Manager is responsible for:

 

Driving design and fashion as a key competitive force in the development of new products to reinforce and build key competitive equity for Corelle and other Tabletop brands in meeting our strategic and financial objectives.

 

Ensuring quality designs – from objective setting, leadership of design resources, establishment and management of design budget, and the evaluation, communication and presentation of design recommendations through to the senior management.

 

Participate as a strategic design partner with Tabletop business team to effectively identify and bring successful new products to market. Lead the creation of design strategies that will deliver against the initiative and pipeline needs to fit the brand equity and business objectives.

 

Be expert in design trends through professional affiliations, trade events and literature. Keep our businesses abreast of relevant developments and their implications. Translate insights into consumer needs into meaningful and sustainable competitive advantages.

 

Communicate and drive an objectives-based design process that assures optimum creativity while assuring a fast design execution and seamless transfer to manufacture.

 

Leverage Intellectual property rights in partnership with legal counsel, and apply best practices in protecting our design equities. Eliminate liability from infringement.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Design Portfolio required with BA design degree. (Graphic Design, Textile Design)

Proven track record in bringing new products to the market,

Design leadership with 8-10 years experience developing product designs.

Experience in lead and build design teams.

Graphic computer skills such as Photoshop, Freehand and Illustrator.

Powerpoint and Excel.

Strong presentation skills.

Strong business awareness and understanding.
