NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT/REFORMULATIONS:Analyze market and competition to identify opportunities and gaps in the current line. Propose launch plan in segments of responsibilities.Work with International Business Development team to ensure that global new products needs and reformulations priorities are met.Issue lab briefs to R&D.Develop new products ' positioning, concepts and claims, evaluate, test internally and select prototypes. Negotiate claims with support groups and legal.Monitor, track and evaluate new products and reformulations' lab samples.Assist in the development of product packaging, copy and launch materials, collaborating with Creative, Marketing, Package development and PR.Ensure that COG targets are met with the help of Marketing Services and Marketing. Participate in the price positioning of new products with Marketing.Brief Education and PR on new products.Prepare marketing books for each new launch to be distributed internally and globally.Visit vendors when needed to approve standards. CONSUMER TESTING:Ensure that all consumer research objectives are clearly stated and met. Work with Market Research Agency in the development of the questionnaire and subsequent review/analysis of data.Coordinate in-house product evaluation studies.Organize BRC tests and develop appropriate product questionnairesCOMPETITIVE:Keep abreast of new/upcoming launches and their strategic importance to the marketplace worldwide.Maintain relevant articles of new competitive entries, ingredients and associated claims/benefits, and new industrial/technical processing capabilities.Monitor and track new product trends and technology through all available trade magazines/journals/newspapers.Prepare written evaluations of new products, trends and present quarterly to marketing team.Manage purchases of all new competitive products and affiliated budget.Attend competitive events and monitor other retail activity.Maintain organization of competitive product closet.TIMETABLESEnsure timetables (with assistance of Marketing Services) are met for launches for formula due dates, claims testing, primary mechanical, officialization dates, and pilot/1st production dates.Recommend phase-outs in coordination with US Marketing and Marketing Services.INTERNAL MEETINGS/SALES MEETING:Organize and moderate brainstorming meetings with marketing team on new concepts.Prepare slide presentation within segments of responsibility on competitive numbers, new launches strategy, International new products, Asian specific products, reformulation updates, market research, etc. Coordinate all sales and PR sample needs. International experience and perspective required.Knowledge of all beauty trends, as well as art/design/fashion/lifestyle/demographic/psychographic trends.A Master's degree or equivalent experience preferred.5-7 years in skincare and color product development is preferred.Managerial experience needed.Experience in multiple beauty categories a plus.Ability to juggle multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced, hectic environment.Creativity and ability to work independently, with minimal administrative support is a must.
