Director of Strategic Sourcing  - Ingredients & Materials

 

Little Lady Foods, Inc., one of the fastest growing companies in Chicago is looking for a Director of Strategic Sourcing to join our team!  Based in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, this individual will be responsible for ensuring an uninterrupted supply of materials and driving profitability through the lowest possible total cost of ownership, vender selection, negotiation and contracting strategies.

 

Responsibilities include:

 Identify and drive savings and continuous improvement opportunities.Interface with R & D and product development to drive strategic sourcing.Implement risk management strategy.Lead the development, implementation and alignment of sourcing strategies and supplier network capabilities for key ingredient spend categories to achieve broad business objectives.Identify metrics, tools and processes to optimize sourcing, supplier activities, and efficiencies.  Work collaboratively with team members to prioritize and drive implementation.Evaluate supplier capabilities and establish sources in new markets as business requirements dictate.Direct the development and negotiation of complex agreements with suppliers encompassing key program specifications and functional objectives.Manage governance and control programs to ensure business continuity, protect company assets and comply with corporate and regulatory policies.Develop annual cost savings programs that implement business strategies that directly effect financial results and growth plans.Manage $150-$250 million in spend.Drive improvements in process efficiency.Analyze supply opportunity as an extended supply chain connecting with customers and vendors to optimize efficiencies.

 

Qualifications:

 Bachelors degree in agriculture, economics, business or supply management, Masters in business, finance or related field a plus.Minimum of 8-10 years experience in purchasing, supply chain, ingredient procurement, or commodities with a medium to large manufacturing organization.  Food industry experience a plus. APICS certification a plus.Proven ability to identify and address key procurement opportunities using a total cost-of-ownership model.  Expansive knowledge of potential suppliers in key categories including corrugate, dairy and meat.Strong and self-assured negotiator with excellent knowledge of contracts.  Excellent communication and facilitation skills.Strong problem solving skills and ability to work under tight time restraints.Ability to handle multiple priorities to achieve desired financial, quality and customer service goals.Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite along with strong financial and analysis skills.Ability to interact effectively with all levels in the organization.
