Documentation Specialist
Purpose of Job:
Manage all documentation and records for a Quality Management System, New Item Process, and Supplier Specification.
Responsibilities and Duties:Creates and manages all documentation and records for a Quality Management System (i.e. formulas, specifications,HACCP- Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point, SSOP-Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure & SOP- Standard Operating ProcedureOversee workflow of New Item Process informationCollects and organizes supplier ingredient and package specificationsProvides nutritional, allergen, and labeling informationCreates and maintains ingredient statements and nutritional information for Wegmans productsCalculates nutritional information for finished products using Genesis Product Development software or coordinates sending finished product to outside lab for nutritional informationResearches and resolves issues that arise and communicates to managers as neededMeets established deadlines and handles time-sensitive matter with appropriate urgencyRecommends and supports process improvements & shares best practicesComplies with FDA and USDA regulations and keeps current with regulations as they change Demonstrates strong interest and knowledge in manufacturing, quality assurance, nutrition, culinary arts and innovating products.
Required Experience/Skills:Advance knowledge with computer programs. (MS Office, Excel, Word, Internet, Outlook, Document Control Software)Experience in calculating nutrition informationStrong knowledge of food service conversions i.e.: weights & volumesCross functional Collaboration: works with internal and external business partners to find common ground and develop customer focused solutionsEffectively deal with ambiguity, handling risk and uncertainty with comfort, maintaining effectiveness in the face of change, and is able to make decisions and act without having the total pictureUse system thinking to solve complex and difficult problems with effective solutions skillfully questioning multiple sources for answers, seeing the underlying and hidden problems and patterns beyond obvious symptoms to address root causesAbility to work independently or as part of a teamUse available resources to pursue goals and challenges with the intent of achieving results, striving for continue excellence and taking appropriate risks.Action Planning associated with completing tasks including scoping out the length and difficulty of projects, breaking down work into processed steps, managing deadlines and making adjustments for multiple demands.Risk Evaluation: proactively identifies opportunity areas of potential risk exposureAdvising- Recommends alternative or improved processes where appropriate; can sell ideasOrganizational agility- proven ability to interact with all levels of managementContinuous improvement– self starter, always strives to improve systems and processesKnowledge & understanding of FDA regulations
