Electrical - Control Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Provide engineering for CWWS products by performing electrical and controls engineering, document and drawing generation, programming, troubleshooting, testing and Quality activities.  Function as the point of contact with agents and customers on technical questions for assigned jobs.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Adhere to CWWS administrative, engineering, and quality procedures and standard practices.Adhere to procedures for assignment of drawing numbers, storage and maintenance of all drawings, engineering files, and records.Complete individual work assignments within the engineering department related to electrical engineering and controls to accomplish scheduled engineering work.Participate in electrical equipment selection and design efforts for new product development.Produce all required electrical and control drawings, and related assembly drawings to support production.Create and Develop control programs according to control narratives for specified CWWS projects and custom systems.Correct and troubleshoot control problems on FAT in the shop.Assist in the production of process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and technical drawings for proposals as required.Assist in the selection of electrical and control items and components for approved standard design changes, custom orders, projects and new products.Manage the administration of your personal training and professional development.Participate in meeting with CWWS management, other engineering and project personnel, purchasing dept., production dept., etc. to discuss the status and requirements or electrical engineering work in process.Provide technical assistance to all departments, regarding interpretation of any electrical and control drawings, and technical information for CWWS products and manufacturing equipment.Provide technical support to service personnel in the field.Identify and interpret applicable laws, regulations and standards. Assist in the creation, collection and retention of Quality documentation.Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor, manager, or CWWS management.Performs other tasks as directed by supervision.

 

PERFORMANCE MEASURES:

 Zero “plus/minus” for pick lists issued to the shop floor.98% or better on time delivery for engineering documentation.100% first time acceptance for all FAT tests.Compliance with regulations, standards and Quality Assurance requirements

 

INTERACTION WITH OTHER DEPARTMENTS:

 

Interface with all internal departments on a regular basis and with suppliers and customers on an as needed basis.  Participate in SDP, Kaizen, 5S, value stream mapping and other lean activities as requested.

 

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

 Electrical or Controls Engineering Bachelor of Science degree with 2 years professional experience.  Knowledge in electrical and controls engineering.Knowledge of AutoCAD 2004 and the suite of Microsoft Office products.Ability to work in a fast paced environment and multi-task.Ability to prioritize and manage work load independently.Strong written and verbal communication skills.
