Employee Relations Manager

Great People! Great Beer! Responsible for providing and/or coordinating delivery of HR support functions across assigned client groups. Proactively seeks to leverage human capital via support of L&D efforts, employee development, administration of the performance management system, and assuring appropriate staffing utilization. Conducts disparity analysis, prepares Affirmative Action Plans and drafts pre-arbitration briefs. Participates in contract negotiations and provides daily administration / interpretation of the collective bargaining agreement. Ensures legal compliance with all applicable State and Federal employment laws. Works to resolve grievances/issues at the lowest level and strives to maintain positive labor / management relations. Serves as a facilitator to business unit teams and provides intervention as needed. Oversees employee awards, benefit, and incentive and recognition programs. Conducts investigations and prepares documentation in response to agency charges. Responsible for selection, recruitment and retention of high caliber talent. Prepares job descriptions, job postings and coordinates candidate processing throughout all phases of the hiring process. Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations or a related field. A minimum of five (5) years progressive HR Generalist experience. Prior experience in a unionized work environment desired, ideally within a manufacturing facility. Previous experience in collective bargaining/contract negotiations, administration of labor agreements, grievance handling/processing and preparation of arbitration briefs. Knowledge of applicable employment laws: FMLA, Workers Compensation, Title VII, NLRA, ADEA, ADA, FLSA, Equal Pay Act, HIPAA, etc. Excellent verbal, written and formal presentation skills. Previous experience with L&D or TOD a strong plus. Advanced knowledge/experience in selection and recruitment processes, behavioral based interviewing and online recruitment search strongly preferred. Experience in compensation, benefits, Affirmative Action plans, and employee reward/recognition programs a plus. The ability to prioritize workloads, function well within a team based work environment, drive change and work well under pressure to effectively meet deadlines. Strong computer skills: Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word and Outlook.
