Engineer – Food Processing

 

Position Summary

Key role in quality focused, state-of-the-art, food processing organization.  This Engineer will work with capital projects, process improvement, and departmental efficiency as a part of the plant’s Maintenance team. 

 

 

Principal Accountabilities:

 

Prioritize the work orders into maintenance action plan for the processing area  consistent with the site priorities and ensure that the systems and procedures agreed for this department are applied.

 

Optimize the human resources in this department, specifically relative to quantity, competence & skills. 

 

Implement a continuous improvement process in this area to ensure that performance improves through permanent involvement of all the members of the team.

 

Provide input and support in all strategic, operational and policy aspects of the technical department including in safety, quality, and performance.

 

Recommend and implement capital projects for improving the performance in the maintenance area.  Bring expertise to the project team on major engineering projects. 

 

 

Qualifications Necessary

 

Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline

 

3 to 7 years experience in processing industry, ideally food, beverage, chemical or biotech

 

Experience implementing continuous improvement processes (Lean, TPM, ...) particularly for improving reliability of equipment.

 

Analytical skills: Critical thinking, ability to challenge the status quo. Organization skills. Initiative Management and leadership skills. Adaptability/Flexibility

 Agility, enthusiasm, humanism, proximity... Team player. Interpersonal skills.
