ENGINEERING OPPORTUNITIES

We currently have a variety of engineering opportunities available in Bayport (near Stillwater) and Cottage Grove, MN.

FOCUS/OBJECTIVE:
These positions are responsible to effectively contribute to Policy Deployment and enterprise key initiatives within the Manufacturing Value Streams through the process of driving continuous improvement, improving customer satisfaction, reducing waste, increasing efficiency and eliminating variation in manufacturing processes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Participative team approach to problem solving and root cause analysis with associates, supervisors, maintenance, Value Stream Managers, and peers.
•Lead continuous improvement projects aligned to lean manufacturing principles; lead cost reductions and yield improvements with delivery partners.
•Assess current vs. future capacity requirements and implement capacity improvements.
•Develop and implement new and existing equipment acceptance plans.
•Develop work methods and layouts.
•Develop a capable equipment vendor supply chain.
•Lead process support for RTQ&E strategic initiatives.
•Demonstrated use of capital project management skills to deliver safe, effective, low cost capital solutions (Project planning, approval process, equipment specification, budget, Preventative Maintenance, acceptance plans, design review, safety assessments, capital request).
•Solid understanding of DMAIC tools; when to apply them, interpretation of results and application for effective solutions (Process map, process capability, C&E matrix, fishbone diagram, FMEA, MSA, DOE, control plan) Drive improvement activity.
•Collaborate with delivery partners to determine appropriate projects of focus, using available data from observation, queries, process data, and working partner input
•Interface with Advanced Design, Product Engineering, and other business partners on the design for manufacturability, process capability, and production builds of new product or product revisions.
•Mentor developing Technicians and interns/Co-ops.
•Utilize Value Stream Mapping tool to develop current state VSM’s, interpret maps to identify improvement opportunities and create future state VSM’s.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
•2+ years engineering experience
•Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
•Strong knowledge of quality systems, SPC and process capability
