Field Service Engineer – Packaging Automation Position Description: 1.  OEM Paper Packaging Equipment manufacturer has openings for a Field Service Engineer to travel to customer sites to install and repair equipment.  Work on PLCs, electrical systems, servos, drives, electronics, and mechanical systems.  Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and installs.2.  If you are tired and bored with going to the same place and doing the same thing every day, then this position offers tremendous variety.  You travel to new places and see different processes and applications every day.  3.  Position offers excellent pay and benefits including: no cost health insurance, 401K (100% match to 7%), profit sharing, paid travel time, paid OT, guaranteed pay while out of town (even if you are sitting in the hotel room). Total compensation (base + OT) should easily exceed $75K.4.  Approximately 85% out of town travel is required.  You travel by airplane to customer sites and stay in hotel rooms.  You can expect to spend 30% to 50% of weekends on the road. There are 2 openings. One is primarily domestic travel and the other is primarily international travel.  In the case of an international installation, you could be on-site for as long as 10 weeks straight.5.  Relocation is not required as long as you live near a major airport.   Requirements: 1.  Must be willing to travel 85% including weekends.2.  Must have excellent in-depth experience working with PLCs. 3.  Must have excellent in-depth experience working with servos and drives.4.  Strong electronic troubleshooting skills.5.  Strong electrical aptitude.6.  Strong mechanical aptitude.7.  Ability to read electrical schematics.8.  Ability to read mechanical drawings.9.  Must have prior experience as a Field Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or Technician.10.
