Food Applications Team Leader

Title: Food Applications Team LeaderLocation: Iowa A well-established food ingredient company is looking for a technical leader to join their Technology division at its corporate headquarters.  The Food Applications Team Leader will be responsible for actively achieving new product growth objectives through direct management of the group responsible for the identification, development, and implementation of technical projects and programs across all commercial applications for Food and Industrial markets.  Primary duties for this position include the allocation and coordination of technology resources for both new product development and the exploration of new applications for existing strategic products. Management of the technical service resources for the entire range of products is also a key aspect of this job.  The successful candidate must possess the ability to assimilate a broad range of applications including the Food and Beverage, Confectionery and Gum, and Industrial markets. The ability to facilitate the management and ongoing growth, as well as the strategic hiring, of highly skilled, advanced degreed individuals is also a key requirement of this position.  Excellent communications skills and the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment, both internal and external, are required. Regular, direct customer interaction and overnight travel (up to 25%) can be expected throughout the North America region. Qualifications:- MS in Food Science/Engineering or related field (PhD preferred)- Minimum 5 years technical management experience - Outstanding innovation skills and product development capability - Demonstrates ability to understand a wide variety of product and process technologies - Demonstrates strong internal and external communication skills- Demonstrates outstanding interpersonal skills at all levels and customer organizations The company will provide relocation assistance.
