Food Technologist/Engineer

PURPOSE

Provide support for the R&D lab and pilot facility to develop an optimized ingredient manufacturing procedure within the facilities operational and analytical constraints. Work with internal and external resources to develop laboratory/ pilot testing protocols for experimental products and applications supporting new product development, quality improvements and brand maintenance.

 

DUTIES

· Work with our facilities to develop, produce, refine, analyze and implement a novel ingredient technology ensuring product yield and quality improvement goals are attained.

· Assist in the development of methodologies to fundamentally determine and specify ingredient functionality and robustness. 

· Assist in the development, quality improvement and commercialization of in-house and supplier produced new products. 

· Identify and facilitate process improvement opportunities throughout the business as identified and/or required. 

· Guide all assignments through a systematic development process thereby ensuring product quality, appropriate project prioritization and shrewd resource allocation.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree degree required.  Degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering or related degree highly desired.

· Typically requires a minimum of 0-3 years of experience. 

· Previous experience with product development and/or process scale-up preferred.

· Project management or strong project management skills with cultivated interpersonal skills to motivate cross-functional teams and external suppliers to adhere to project timetables.

· Proficient with computer applications such as Microsoft Office software package required.

· Approximate travel required: 35-50%
