Formulation Chemist - Aerosols
American Spraytech is searching for an upwardly mobile formulations chemist who will work under our renowned Director of R&D - Aerosol products, to develop new cosmetic and OTC drug spray products + expand existing product categories. Prior aerosol-related experience is a big PLUS, but it is not mandatory. What is essential is that the candidate be an ace student, a good learner and listener, an analytical thinker, a person who considers himself / herself capable of common sense applications. Most importantly, the candidate must be capable of comfortably blending in with the close knit company culture, and be highly motivated / willing to work very hard in order to achieve personal and company objectives.Job Purpose:
Formulates aerosol products and processes by conducting research, analysis, synthesis, and experimentation.
Duties:
* Determines product specifications by studying consumer requirements; conferring with management and engineering staff.
* Determines process standards by developing formulas and methods.
* Identifies chemical and physical properties of substances by conducting analyses such as chromatography, spectroscopy, and spectrophotometry.
* Researches new products and processes by conducting experiments involving the composition, structure, properties, relationships, and reactions of matter induced by heat, light, energy, and chemical catalysts.
* Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
* Maintains organization's stability and reputation by complying with government regulations.
* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
* Maintains safe and clean working environment by establishing and complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
