The Global Commodity Analyst position is responsible for identifying and leveraging multi-regional and global opportunities for a global category through the development and execution of procurement strategies that encompass 28 countries, 6 regions, and five continents - Responsible for leading multi-regional teams in the development, recommendation, and execution of optimal multi-regional & global strategies for the global metal container category- Responsible for identification, gathering and development of internal and external intelligence such as supplier capabilities, industry scope, specification data, scale and trends, emerging technologies and markets- Along with Hub lead buyers and key stakeholders, develops global bidding strategies, analysis and recommendations- Develops plans and is responsible for short and long term goals that translate to business results including global cost savings, quality improvement and global supply chain efficiencies- Plays key role in developing and sustaining relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers, while aggressively driving for results to ensure competitive advantage - Guides others to ensure organizational linkage by aligning regional hub goals across projects, strategies, and stakeholders- Supports key local & regional negotiations and leads all global contract negotiations- Manages risk and initiates strategies to support global contingency planning - Builds strategic cross-functional internal relationships for both present and long term initiatives by gaining alignment among key stakeholders to provide optimal procurement support, expertise and linkage- Establishes and maintains global benchmarking database to augment hub and global strategies- Develops cost models and provides training in the use of cost modelling techniques to hubs- Builds global database and develops best practice for global all for metal container supply agreements- Provides global supplier, industry & financial analysis for all regions, maintains global spend data base, and transfers key learning among hubs- Works closely & supports the Global Technology group by identifying alternative materials/suppliers and harmonize global performance specifications - Undergraduate degree with 10 years of extensive industry or Procurement experience; Postgraduate degree would be advantageous.- Must have a good working knowledge of the principles and practices of can manufacturing processes.- Prior experience in developing financial analysis and market analysis coupled with variance reporting- Strong analytical skills and technical market analysis experience- Demonstrated self initiated management skills with ability to independently learn processes and procedures.- Must have the ability to formulate and analyse complex competitive bid packages, and negotiate terms and conditions with supply partners.- Must have a basic understanding of logistics and materials management concepts- Must exercise good judgement in handling sensitive information and maintain confidentiality where applicable.- International experience preferred.- Proven skills in core competencies (Analytical/Problem Solving, Results Driven, Innovative, Team Player/Interpersonal Skills, Intellect, Resilient/Flexible/Adaptable, Leadership Skills)- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with both management and line staff personnel- Ability to develop world-class, dynamic global strategies which can be modified quickly to take advantage of emerging opportunities and issues - Can negotiate highly complex contracts while delivering world-class results and equally proficient at internal negations and influencing with stakeholders- Ability to effectively communicate in group settings to provide a simple concise message- Tolerance for complexity and ambiguity, strong self-management skills- Ability to recognise critical problems and identify opportunitiesDemonstrated competency in the following computer programs: OUTLOOK, EXCEL, POWERPOINT, WORD, and ACCESS- Demonstrated communication skills, oral and written, for the preparation of professional, clear, concise reports and for presentations to multi-divisional management- Demonstrated proficient interpersonal, listening and negotiation skills to deal effectively with suppliers, vendors, peers, team members, superiors, consultants and other professionals- Judgement skills to balance global, company, division and department goals and objectives- Demonstrated commitment to the principals of Multi-Cultural diversity and ability to create a productive, talented and professional work environment for all others- Demonstrated strong, positive leadership abilities in successfully leading multi-discipline teams- Wants to take charge of the business and have a positive impact- Ability to establish priorities and plans to achieve short and mid-term global goals- To quickly learn and have the ability to teach complicated concepts to others and engage all levels of the organization on the concept of global strategy development, benchmarking, and cost modelling
