The division is a leading maker of sports related equipment and accessories. Its premium brand of product is the #1 seller in the US. The company makes value-priced products as well, covering all targeted segments completely., Their products are sold in professional shops, sporting goods stores, and to mass merchants throughout the US, Canada, and South Africa, and in parts of Europe and Asia. This Global Merchandising Manager reports directly to the Vice President of Product Marketing and Strategic Planning – Worldwide.
Responsibilities
This individual will:
¨ Execute the worldwide merchandising plan for these products with particular focus on development of consumer promotion, merchandising and awareness initiatives.
¨ Work closely with Product and Brand Marketing to ensure that premium and micro brands are merchandised and promoted within the best accounts to partner and prominent levels.
¨ Conduct audit of key accounts to provide a start point measure of our products’ brand presence, as well as develop action plans to achieve the targeted brand impression.
¨ Evaluate and report on the brand/merchandising presence to Regional Managers, Country Managers and Marketing liaisons to address any deficiencies or to capitalize upon any opportunities.
¨ Manage and cultivate a presence of "First Impression, Best Impression, and Most Lasting Impression" for both brands and across all micro brands and models.
¨ Work with the Product Marketing Team to establish specific objectives and expectations by region as to the desired condition and position of product and merchandising.
¨ Create monthly, quarterly and annual merchandising plans by region to ensure balanced and comprehensive presence for both brands and micro brands throughout the product season.
¨ Assist Sales Managers and Country Managers with identifying enhanced merchandising and promotion prospects, as well as incremental brand impression and sales opportunities.
¨ Have the desire and ability to travel domestically and internationally often and at short notice.
Requirements
Education
A Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Management or Visual Merchandising is required. An MBA degree or extensive practical experience within a Business environment will be given priority.
Experience
At least five years merchandising, promotion or marketing experience required.
Extensive sporting goods knowledge, product experience or technical background would be of great advantage and is highly desired. International exposure will be highly advantageous.
Compensation
A powerful compensation package will be developed for the successful candidate that includes a base salary and annual bonus, product associated perks, vacation, relocation expenses, 401k plan with company matching and a health plan.
