We have an opening in our Oakland, California manufacturing facility for a

Help Desk Technician.

 

In this position you will set up new users with PC, network and telephone privileges.  You’ll install, modify and make minor repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems and provide technical assistance and training to system users.  You will resolve remote access issues, printing issues and Active Directory user difficulties. In this position you will respond to client inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnose system hardware, software and operator problems.  You must be able to instruct users in use of equipment, software and manuals and being able to recommend or perform minor remedial actions to correct software and hardware problems.  You will proved updates, status and completion information to manager, problem request tracking system, and/or users, via data entry, voice mail, e-mail, or in-person communication.

 

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies.

Education and/or Experience:  Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university with Information Systems concentration; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. You must be technically proficient in Internet software, spreadsheet software and Word Processing software (e.g., Outlook/Exchange environment and Microsoft Office Suite).  Knowledge of Citrix Presentation Server, Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition Administration, PBX administration and databases such as Filemaker Pro preferred.  Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities, manage competing demands and use time efficiently.
