Company Central Garden & Pet Company Location Elk Grove Village, IL Status Full Time, Employee Job Category Human Resources Relevant Work Experience: 1+ to 2 Years Job Description Central Garden & Pet Company (NASDAQ:CENT), a leading innovator, marketer and producer of quality branded products for the pet and lawn and garden supplies markets, is searching for a Human Resource Coordinator to join the Pet Team in our Elk Grove Village, IL office.  The Human Resource Coordinator reports to the Human Resource Manager, and assists in performing Human Resource/Payroll related duties.  The position may assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.  He or she is responsible for producing a timely and accurate payroll.  Maintaining the integrity of confidential employment, personnel and business information is of utmost importance to the successful fulfillment of this position. Please see our web site for additional company information.  www.central.com Key Responsibilities· Monitors and corrects daily timesheets.· Coordinates new hire and benefit orientation.· Processes new hire and termination paperwork.· Processes employment verifications, payroll deductions including but not limited to benefits, court orders, etc.· Completes mandatory surveys· Processes bi-weekly payroll. Experiences/Skills/Education· A minimum of 1-3 years related experience in a Human Resource/Payroll environment. · Excellent oral and written communication skills· Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, payroll/human resource programs) to produce reports/correspondence and track statistics.· Ability to plan and organize work effectively; analyze problems, propose reasonable solutions, make logical decisions and carry out decisions made.  Follow-up with feedback where appropriate.   Working Conditions· Work is performed largely in an office environment; however, occasional time will be spent on the manufacturing floor with employees.· Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours and average at least 40 hours per week.  There will be some variation in work hours due to employee shift schedules, special projects, deadlines and other concerns. Interested job-seekers, apply here: http://tbe.taleo.net/NA3/ats/careers/requisition.jsp?org=CENTRAL&cws=1&rid=544
