IT Generalist

Wald Diversified, a successful shipping, warehousing, and import company based out of Hawthorne, CA, is seeking an Information Technology Generalist to handle IT, Help Desk, and Network & Server administration.  This post performs information systems administrative procedures and maintains documentation that covers two or more functional areas including data control, applications training, data coordination and scheduling, data security administration, etc.  Provides support to end users on a variety of issues. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support. Documents, tracks and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution.

The job is a full-time, salaried position with a pay range starting above $55k, negotiable depending upon qualifications and experience. Monday through Friday with occasional weekends, based on need.  Wald Diversified offers full medical, dental, and 401k benefits. 

Duties include:


·        Administer, monitor, and maintain network infrastructure and cabling (including Wireless Access Points, Sonicwall VPN Router, and Dell PowerConnect stackable switches, etc).

·        Administer and maintain in-house telecommunication system (Inter Tel 5000 and client IP phones).

·        Administer, monitor, and maintain server hardware and equipments (including HP Prolient 380, APC UPS, A/C Temperature Control, Surveillance system, and wiring).

·        Administer, monitor, and maintain in-house servers which provide various essential services, such as Active Directory, File & Print, Terminal Service, MS SQL (Macola Progression), MS Exchange, FTP, VPN, Starship, Antivirus (Symantec Endpoint Security), and Data backup (Backup Exec 11d with HP tape autoloader). 

·        Maintain and provide help desk support for users, workstations, and network printers.

·        Generate analytical reports in Crystal Report and MS Excel Pivot format.

·        Maintain and Administer external websites and FTP server.

·        Manage Software licensing, updates, and distributions.

·        Collaborate with Server Specialists and Macola consultants on implementation, maintenance, and server services.

·        Utilize I.T. resources, and analyze and suggest resolutions to project managers.

·        Purchase I.T. equipments, and maintain I.T. inventory.         ·        Create and maintain I.T. documentations.

      Educational experience: B.S. in Computer Science
      Professional experience: 4-5 years in IT/Help Desk role, minimum 2 years in supervisory/managerial role
