Summary

 

Lead the IT function for TomTom North America; with responsibilities for the internal and external computer systems, the internal network, Electronic Data Interchange between TomTom offices and/or Third Parties, the WAN connections, website maintenance, database maintenance, email server maintenance.  Also responsible for the project management of future IT projects and with the creation of Functional Specifications for these.  The IT manager will be part of a team responsible for all web communications worldwide, continuously maximizing its effectiveness towards the consumer, reseller and media.

 

Key Responsibilities

· Managing the network infrastructure for the US office

· Database management and administration

· Electronic Data Interchange between TomTom offices and/or third-parties

· Trouble-shooting web-server related problems

·  Updating functional specifications where needed

· Establishing a help desk process

· Liaison with the business owners to  understand their business needs

· Informing business owners with release-news and possible relevant new functionality

· Performing impact-analysis and indicate complexity of suggested changes

· Documentation

· Project management

· Develop & implement IT procedures &policies utilizing best practices

· Develop PC acquisition & replacement strategy to support TomTom growth

· Participate on project teams to provide technical expertise in relation to IT infrastructure & software enhancements

· Research & acquire IT vendor solutions to meet requirements of TomTom business processes

 

Qualifications

We’re looking for an enthusiastic committed colleague with an eye for detail, hands on mentality, and a strong focus on quality.

 

· Bs degree in Computer Science or related field

· 7+ years in IT

· Strong server management skills

· In-depth knowledge of web best practices and web usability.

· In-depth knowledge of computer networking and network related security issues.

· Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, you feel confident when communicating withy people at all levels – both internal and external. You have shown to be  capable of training users and writing documentation (manuals and guides)

· Sound attention to detail and accuracy, with an organised mind, following through on requests and maintaining professional standards

· Required skills: Linux, Windows server platforms, MySQL, MS-SQL Server 2000 (Querying and manipulation, Stored Procedures), Apache, XML, Relational Databases theory, Data modelling

· You have in dept understanding of Electronic Data Interchange issues..

· Additional skills: SAP

· Good understanding of logistic processes

· Willingness to travel

· Ability to thrive in a fast paced dynamic, international work environment.
