Import Associate

Momenta is a dynamic consumer products company with offices located in the U.S. and Hong Kong.  We have an immediate opportunity for an Import Associate to assist in management of our domestic and Asian supply chains.  The Import Associate is responsible for managing both the direct import shipments to customers and our own product import processes, ensuring accurate documentation and timely delivery.  In addition this role will provide support to the Global Sourcing Manager. 

 

Responsibilities include:Manager all direct to customer shipments from Asian suppliers, including specific customer procedures and schedules. Review of customers letters of credit and resulting requirements. Author and manage all shipment documentation required by customers and freight forwarders. Work with Asian suppliers to manage production, testing and inspection schedules to ensure timely shipments. Maintain and communicate all export and import product codes, working with the customs broker for any changes or updates. Research and identify customs rulings and restrictions for import on new product concepts and categories. Provide sales department with information needed for customer requirements. Insure factory compliance with customer ethical standards requirements. 

 

Requirements:College education preferred. 2+ years of administration/project management experience preferred. 1+ years managing DI shipments to US retailers (Wal-Mart, Target, Kmart). Proven experience with Microsoft Excel and Word. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to details.
