This position has responsibility for helping to develop and execute internal communication efforts across Unilever Americas (North and Latin America) and effectively translate the regional strategic agenda into clear messages & communications that meet the needs of key stakeholders. This role reports to the Manager, Internal Communications Americas, based in Englewood Cliffs, NJ.

Role will work closely with other members of the Corporate Affairs (Internal, CSR, Media, Gov’t Affairs), Continuous Improvement and Human Resources teams to improve the effectiveness of internal communications and ensure alignment of key messages across the region.

Position Responsibilities:

• Support the development and implementation of the Americas internal communications strategy and the coordination of regional messages with local country/cluster communication.

• Help ensure consistency, format and frequency of communications intended for all Americas employees; Coordinate logistics for regional communications events (Quarterly LiveMeetings, Webcasts, etc)

• Develop content for various internal communications, including emails, functional communications and online content

• Develop and maintain relationships with communications representatives across the region to capture best practices and case studies. (i.e. Americas Internal Communications Network.)

• Help manage employee feedback, including assisting with gathering and compiling feedback, drafting feedback reports, emails and coordinating program elements.

• Assist manager with execution of day-to-day internal communications activities and proactively identify opportunities for employee communications and strategic approaches.

• Help develop and update content for regional communication programs and campaigns, vehicles and events, including presentations, drafting articles, assisting with Town Hall meetings, Quarterly updates and other Americas communication forums.

Scope:
Helps to support communication efforts for Americas regional agenda and increase overall communications effectiveness across the organization.

Education: BA in Communications or related field

Experience: At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in internal communications, including developing and executing internal communications initiatives. Emphasis on communications planning, program implementation, and writing. Public Relations or Corporate Communications Agency and Consulting experience a plus.

Skills: Strong oral and written skills (ability to write in various contexts and voices) and ability to build relationships.
