Market Intelligence Manager

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB:Overall leadership of the market intelligence function for Jostens, and strategic consultation with leaders and marketing management for business divisions.• Direct, end-to-end market intelligence support for Scholastic, Memory Book, and EMO businesses from ideation to strategy to execution• Indirect market intelligence support for College businessesBased on articulated business objectives and budget from marketing, this role will:• Design studies for actionable results• Execute internally, or source and manage research vendors to ensure quality• Review, analyze and interpret results, drawing conclusions against research objectives and forming recommendations for the business• Develop approach for presentation and deliver research reportCoaching and management of market intelligence activities of Specialist, including:• Distributing and prioritizing work, assigning resources as needed• Coach Specialists in research execution and findings reports• Review and approve analysis and reports from Specialists• Identify list of pre-approved vendors to support Specialists in sourcing data as needed• Direct, manage, and coach market intelligence activities of other market research associates• Create presentation approach framework to support presentation of findings consistently • Provide support on both ideation/market insights, as well as competitive intelligence, as required by business divisions, either directly or via team members• Provide support on new product and/or business development efforts through EMO• Manage market intelligence annual budgetJOB REQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS: • BA/BS in Marketing/Business, Research, Statistics or related field required; MBA preferred• 8+ years business experience required; Minimum 5 years directly related and progressively responsible market research management experience; experience on the supplier side of research industry a plus• Strong analytical, business presentation and reporting skills required• Experience in market segmentation, industry studies, new product testing, pricing analysis, and competitive intelligence required; experience in teen and/or school markets preferred• Experience in coordination of multiple studies, and working with various business divisions, within project deadlines and budgets• Experience in sourcing research and managing external vendors• Strong computer experience – MS Office, statistical analysis packages• Proven ability to lead, manage and motivate individuals/team members and drive team results• Strategic thinker with creative problem solving skills required; ability to see things not readily apparent to others and/or find unique solutions to seemingly unsolvable challenges • Self starter with strong interpersonal skills, ability to work across multiple levels of the organization, with varied levels of support• Travel of approximately 15%Jostens supports and embraces a diverse workforce as an EEO/AA employer.TO APPLY: Please visit our web site and apply on line at: http://www.jostens.com/EmploymentOpportunities/default.asp
